Pete Luckett began selling produce as a teenager at Victoria Market in Nottingham, England. After years of learning the business, he relocated to Saint John, New Brunswick. Luckett opened his fruit and vegetable stand in 1982 and quickly became something of a local legend for his unique and charismatic greengrocer flare.
In 2012, after having worked at Pete’s for nearly two decades, the business was sold to Darren Lavigne, who upholds its founding spirit: friendly service, specialty products, and the finest and freshest produce. The shop is now called The City Market Greengrocer.
The City Market Greengrocer is here to serve you fresh and unique foods with quality ingredients. Our brand has evolved but our values remain the same: quality products, knowledgeable service, and an assortment of international foods curated with you in mind.
